Social Impact

While still in high school, Jimin Park joined volunteer work in Thailand. The experience showed him that help does not begin with scale. Sharing time and skills, and contributing what resources are available, can make a real difference—however small—in another person’s daily life.

To carry that lesson into the company’s responsibilities, PWSGROUP began regular donations in September 2026 through UNICEF Korea’s support for children worldwide. It is a commitment to look beyond the responsibilities we hold in Korea and continue supporting children across borders.

We believe continuity matters more than displaying the size of a contribution. PWSGROUP will keep looking for practical ways to share the experience, capabilities and resources built through its work, both at home and abroad.

Since Korea and China established diplomatic relations in 1992, young people studying and living in one another’s countries have created one of the most enduring forms of exchange. Jimin Park studied in Beijing and later interned, worked and pursued entrepreneurship in China. In 2025, he began this program to pass forward part of the help and learning he received from Korean and Chinese seniors and peers.

The third meeting, held on 13 August 2026, brought together 19 Korean students studying in China and 29 Chinese students studying in Korea—a total of 48 participants. They first visited Kakao headquarters to learn about the company and its services and speak with employees. The program then moved to the Global Startup Center (GSC), operated by the Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development under the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, where students learned about support available to Koreans returning home to start a business and to international students building a company in Korea.

Ahn Young-il, a center director at the Korea Angel Investment Association, introduced Korea’s startup and angel-investment ecosystem, including TIPS. Scott, an angel investor in more than 80 startups in China, and representatives of Zhejiang-based innovation and investment organization Saichuang Weilai shared perspectives on changes in AI, China’s venture-investment environment and what startups need to prepare. Professor Yun Seok-bin of Sogang University’s Graduate School of AI & Software drew on his new book, AI Orchestrators and Super Solo Enterprises, to discuss learning and career choices in the AI era and respond to students’ questions.

A Chinese student representative shared reflections on the day, followed by a commemorative photograph at GSO and an informal networking dinner. The participants’ ambitions and paths are different, but the hope is that this meeting will become the start of long relationships and, in time, bridges between the two countries. We thank the Embassy of the People’s Republic of China in the Republic of Korea, KISED and everyone who shared their time and experience. The non-profit program will continue during university vacations without a participation fee.

On 4 July 2026, support was provided for Hanmaum Hantteut’s summer gathering in Daeseong-ri. Known as Hantteut, the community brings together Seoul high-school student council presidents and carries student-leadership experience and relationships across schools and cohorts.

A small contribution toward preparation and operations was intended to help younger members spend time together and exchange experiences in a more comfortable setting. As one of Hantteut’s 13th-cohort alumni, Jimin Park hopes the connection between alumni and current members will continue naturally into the next cohort’s work.

On 21 May 2026, Jimin Park returned to his alma mater, Shinil High School, for its 15th alumni lecture for students. Under the question ‘Challenge yourself abroad, or stay in Korea?’, he spoke candidly about studying in China and pursuing employment and entrepreneurship overseas, while considering students’ questions about paths at home and abroad.

After the lecture, the group discussed whether the school’s Global Leadership Training, currently centered on the United States, might one day extend to China. The idea remains at the proposal stage. Subject to the right conditions, the hope is to work with the Shinil High School Alumni Association and explore an opportunity for students to experience Chinese universities and companies as early as 2027.

On 7 February 2026, support was offered to Hanmaum Hantteut for the first time. Known as Hantteut, the group brings together Seoul high-school student council presidents and carries student-leadership experience and relationships across schools and cohorts.

This was Jimin Park’s first time contributing as one of Hantteut’s 13th-cohort alumni. The hope was that the experience and connections built by one cohort might become a foothold for the next.

The morning included a visit to LG CNS and a conversation with employees about careers and roles. In the afternoon, the group gathered at the Global Startup Center (GSC), operated by the Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development under the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, for lectures and exchanges on startups, entrepreneurship and AI with support from the Korea Academy of Management.

Korean and Chinese student-association leaders introduced their work, while an experienced Korean founder, Yingke Law Firm Korea and Chinese venture capital and startup-support organization SAICHUANG WEILAI (赛创未来) shared their respective experiences and roles. Jimin Park, a former 25th President of the Federation of Korean Student Associations in Beijing, joined the preparation and facilitation as one of the association’s alumni. No participation fee was charged so the gathering could remain focused on learning from one another.

In September 2025, a contribution was made toward the student exchange and community activities of the 34th Federation of Korean International Students in Beijing. At the same gathering, Jimin Park was appointed Honorary President. More than the title itself, the intention is to remain close enough to quietly encourage the work of current students.

On 20 February 2025, student-association leaders from the Federation of Korean Student Associations in Beijing and the Chinese Students and Scholars Association in Korea visited Kakao Pangyo Agit. They then continued their conversation at the Global Startup Center (GSC), operated by the Korea Institute of Startup & Entrepreneurship Development under the Ministry of SMEs and Startups.

At GSC, the group shared experiences and questions about international students starting businesses in Korea, Korean students pursuing youth entrepreneurship after returning home, and Korea’s startup ecosystem. The Korean name of the Chinese Students and Scholars Association in Korea is 전한중국학인학자연합회 (전한학련); its Chinese name is 全韩中国学人学者联谊会 (全韩学联 / 全韩中国学联), and its English abbreviation is CSSAK.
